Heart of Arts was formed in 2016, providing a community art space/gallery in the middle of Carterton. It’s a large collective of local people who contribute art – paintings, sculpture, textiles, repurposed items, prints and jewellery. HOA is inclusive, we make no judgement or critique of artists’ work.
Located in an historic wooden building with large old-world windows, the double red doors open into a spacious gallery carrying the work of local artists. The gallery is refreshed regularly and the exhibition space features a different local artist each month, so there is always something new to see.
As a busy arts collective, HOA is a hive of activity. Artists meet artists, view each other’s work, and deliver workshops making art accessible for everyone.
During the Wairarapa Art Trail HoA will be providing free workshops run by local artists, check out our flyer and Facebook page for more information.
