Jane Gibbens is a Wairarapa artist whose work combines traditional draftsmanship with contemporary detail and finish. Working primarily in pen and ink, gold leaf, and mixed media, she creates intricate illustrations inspired by botanicals, native birds, historic buildings, and the New Zealand landscape.
Her work explores light, texture, and precision, balancing delicate linework with bold contrast and luminous surfaces. Alongside larger detailed works, Jane is also known for her playful miniature pieces and contemporary approach to traditional illustration techniques.
