Sally Maguire is an artist whose passion for painting comes from capturing the extraordinary beauty found in everyday life — from the tiny moss growing on a fence post to the vast, dramatic skies of the New Zealand landscape. Working primarily in oils, she seeks to express emotion and atmosphere through her paintings, inviting viewers to connect with the wonder and feeling she experiences in the world around her.
In 2012, Sally and Helmut Hirler relocated a homestead and established ARTMOSPHERE in Waipawa, Central Hawke’s Bay. Over the following 12 years, they successfully operated the gallery, representing more than 100 artists. Seeking a quieter pace of life, they later sold the gallery and moved to Masterton, where they are now surrounded by native bush. There, Sally and Helmut have created PAPERMOON GALLERY, an intimate new gallery space featuring the work of just three artists: Sally Maguire, Helmut Hirler, and Gary Waldrom.
