Tatyana’s creative home is in Florence, Italy where she studied and then taught at the Florence Academy of Art, exploring the old masters’ techniques and aesthetics, training the eye to work from life, researching materials, frame finishing and composition.
Rural Wairarapa became a quiet base for Tatyana while teaching and working with clients in Wellington.
Flowers from her garden, New Zealand people and expanding horizons over the epic Antarctic landscapes comprise Tatyana’s current subject matter focusing on the slow beauty of the natural world and the human story as an antidote to the technological age and the pressures of mass production. Handmade from beginning to end, Tatyana’s work pours from her heart, each a unique creation of love, beauty and craftsmanship.
