The Yellow Room is in a heritage building located in the heart of
Greytown. The top floor was once a Foresters Hall, built in the 1860s on
the corner of West and Kuratawhiti Streets. It was moved to the current
site before WWl, and raised to create another floor. This ground floor,
now configured as a shop with gallery/workshop space behind, was at
different times, a rifle range, a skating rink, a movie theatre and clothing
factory.

Over the Wairarapa Art Trail weekend The Yellow Room will
make a focus on the Wairarapa, showing a collection of work by local
artists.

Nick Brandon (below) will be giving demonstrations of the steps
needed to create a print. Cash sales only.

Leonardo da Vinci said “Painting is poetry that is seen rather than felt, and
poetry is painting that is felt rather than seen.” The Yellow Room 4-5pm
Saturday September 26, will offer an open mic opportunity to share
poetry, either original or created by others. As the seating is limited
please RSVP 027 595 0010.
