Yulia Potts is a Wairarapa-based illustrator, writer, and homesteader creating watercolour illustrations inspired by rural New Zealand life and classic children’s books. Working under the name MyHoneyland Illustrations, she creates artwork influenced by the charm of the old storybooks. Her inspiration comes from nature, home life, gardens, animals, and the atmosphere of the countryside.

She spends her days painting, sketching, and nature journaling, with a strong focus on storytelling and connection to the place she lives in.

Over the past ten years, she has illustrated about 37 books for independent authors around the world, while also creating her own stories and illustrations inspired by the Golden Age of children’s book illustration.

Yulia lives on a small homestead surrounded by hills, animals, vineyards, and orchards. This rural life absolutely finds its way into her visual world. Her illustrations aim to feel nostalgic and, at the same time, connected to modern country living
